How The Big Catch Builds on the Original
Fishin' Frenzy The Big Catch came out from Blueprint Gaming in 2021 and keeps the fishing-boat theme of the long-running series. It plays on 5 reels, 3 rows and 10 fixed paylines, so the base game is plain line-pay with no ways or clusters.
The depth sits in the free spins. Three or more boat scatters start the round, and from then on fish carry cash values while fishermen sweep them up. Anyone coming from the original Fishin' Frenzy will recognise the setting but find a longer, more layered bonus.
The name is shared by several releases, which causes confusion when you read reviews. Keep these apart:
- This page covers the 2021 game with 10 fixed paylines.
- The Big Catch Megaways is a separate slot with 15,625 ways.
- The Big Catch 3, from 2025, adds a random feature with modifier choices.
Fish Money Symbols and Their Values
Fish are the paying symbols of the bonus round. During free spins each one lands with a cash value attached, and nothing is paid until a fisherman arrives to collect it. A fish sitting on the reels alone is only potential.
What the fish carry
One source reports values from roughly 2x to 50x the stake. That figure is unverified, so use it as a rough picture rather than a paytable. The actual numbers are printed on the symbols as they land.
How values change after an upgrade
Once four fishermen have been collected, the lowest-value fish are promoted to the next tier. Over a long round this raises the floor of what a fish can be worth, so the later spins can look very different from the first ones.
Fish tiers and values are listed in the game's info screen. Trust that over any third-party figure, including the ones on this page.
Fisherman Collector Symbols in Free Spins
The fisherman is what turns a screen of fish into a payout, and it drives the whole feature.
What a fisherman does when it lands
When a fisherman symbol appears during free spins, it collects the cash values of every fish currently in view. More fish on screen at that moment means a bigger collection, so timing matters more than any single symbol.
The four-fisherman upgrade ladder
Collections are counted in groups of four, and each completed group triggers the Big Catch upgrade.
- A fisherman lands and collects the fish values in view.
- The collection counts towards a running total of four.
- On the fourth fisherman, the lowest-value fish upgrade to the next tier.
- The same upgrade adds 5 extra spins to the round.
Retriggers and Extended Bonus Rounds
Sources disagree on retriggers: one says the slot has none, another lists them. What is consistent is that extra spins come through the fisherman upgrade, which adds 5 spins each time four fishermen are collected.
The round itself starts from the scatter count. These awards come from a single review, as the provider page was not available to check.
| Boat scatters | Free spins awarded |
|---|---|
| 3 | 10 |
| 4 | 15 |
| 5 | 20 |
One source mentions a cap of 35 spins on the extended round. It is not confirmed, so treat it as a likely ceiling rather than a rule, and look at the game's help screen for the current wording.
RTP and Volatility Settings
Which RTP figure to trust
Two sources report an RTP of 95.32% for this game. Other pages quote 96.12%, but that number appears to belong to the original Fishin' Frenzy and has been attached to the wrong slot. RTP is a long-run average across many spins, not a prediction for one session.
Operators can sometimes run a game at different RTP versions, so the figure shown in the game's own info panel is the one that applies to you.
Volatility and maximum win
Volatility is reported as medium-high. In practice that means quieter stretches in the base game and results that depend heavily on how the bonus round unfolds.
Maximum win figures conflict between sources and none has been confirmed by the provider, so no single number is given here. Set your stake with a long, uneven session in mind.
Reeling In The Big Catch at Rainbet
Anyone looking for fishin' frenzy the big catch Rainbet in the lobby should use the site search, as availability and the exact version can vary by region. The games section shows how the library is organised.
A free demo mode exists for this slot in many lobbies, again depending on region. It is a sensible way to see how often fishermen land before you stake real money.
On the welcome package, the casino offers 100%/50%/100% over three deposits up to CHF 700 plus 60 free spins. Those spins are tied to Sweet Bonanza, not this slot, and the wagering terms are set out on the bonus page.
If you prefer playing on a phone, the mobile app guide covers the options. Whatever the device, read the info screen first, then decide your stake and a time limit.
Watch the fish count before a fisherman lands; the collection is only as good as what is on screen.
FAQ
How is Fishin' Frenzy The Big Catch different from the original Fishin' Frenzy?
The Big Catch adds a tiered upgrade system to the free spins: every four fishermen promote the lowest fish and add spins. Its reported RTP is also lower than the original's. Check the original Fishin' Frenzy review if you want a side-by-side comparison.
Can free spins be retriggered in The Big Catch?
Sources disagree on a classic retrigger. What is confirmed is that collecting four fishermen adds 5 spins, which extends the round. One source gives a ceiling of 35 spins, but that figure is unverified.
What is the RTP of Fishin' Frenzy The Big Catch?
Two sources report 95.32% with medium-high volatility. A figure of 96.12% circulates too, but it appears to describe the original game. Always confirm the value in the slot's own info panel, since it is what applies to your session.
Can I try the slot for free first?
A demo mode exists for this game and is typically offered in casino lobbies and on demo aggregator sites. Availability depends on your region. It is useful for learning how fishermen and fish values interact without staking anything.
